After receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis in early 2014, Peter Short spent his final months campaigning for law reform to allow him to die on his own terms. The Coles Express chief executive's lobbying would see him have a phone conversation with then-Prime Minister Tony Abbott about changing voluntary-euthanasia legislation.
